Spicewood Christmas Punch

Luck’s own Scott Marsh shares a Luck take on Tennessee Christmas Punch, featuring our favorite Jack Daniels.

Step 1: Make Mulled Wine

  • 750 ml Malbec (one bottle)

  • 5 Star Anise Pods

  • 7 cinnamon sticks

  • 12 cloves

  • 8 oz maple syrup

  • One Orange sliced

In a large saucepan, add the Malbec wine, spices, and orange slices. Bring to a light simmer, and add in maple syrup. Continue to warm on medium-low heat. Fine strain to remove spices and orange. (approx 30 minutes)

Step 2: Make Spiced Cranberry Syrup (do this along with step 1 for ease and time)

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries

  • 2 star anise pods

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • 1 teaspoon whole allspice

  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves

Add sugar, water, cranberries, and spices to a sauce pot. Simmer, stirring occasionally to mix. After sugar is fully dissolved and cranberries are soft, fine strain to remove spices and berries. (approx. 30 minutes)

Step 3: Make the Punch

Combine 12 oz of the Mulled Wine with---

6 oz Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey

6 oz Spiced Cranberry syrup

6 oz lemon juice

6 oz water

Adjust non-alcoholic ingredients to taste as needed.
